Ball Ground Secondary Operator - 1st Shift

Department: LP Secondary - 3
Location: BALL GROUND, GA

Pay

$20.00/hr Starting; $21.56/hr After Completion of Level 1 (Around 90 days)

UAC specializes in 2000- and 7000-series alloys and offers a full range of alloys and tempers that can be tailored to a customer’s particular application.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote safety
  • Utilize proper lifting techniques
  • Understand weight limitations
  • Understand E-stop locations and what they control
  • Know what tools are required and how to use them
  • Fill out forms properly: specification print sheet, hard card, inspector forms
  • Understand the production schedule and what order to run
  • Inspect material for flatness, twist, bow, angle and gap dimensions and know how to calculate each
  • Know R codes (scrap)
  • Understand how to read prints
  • Possess basic knowledge of machines used: casting, roller machine, de-twist, cut to size, draw bench, vertical roll form
  • Know how to reduce handling defects and what defects can happen
  • Know how to stack orders and label them
  • Recognize where to place completed material
  • Communicate with shift change over operator to discuss line up, racks, issues with dimensions and paperwork
  • Prepare line for the next shift
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: HS Diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum Experience: None required
  • Certifications Required: Obtained during new hire orientation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively listen and communicate ideas and thoughts to others; able to assimilate ideas originated by others
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to carry out and communicate written and/or oral instructions
  • Physical Abilities: Required to stand 100% of the time; regularly required to reach with hands and arms; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at any time; handle hot metal and tooling; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

  • Schedule: 3rd shift

Safety

All UAC employees must know and follow job safety procedures, attend required health and safety training, proactively promote safety at work, and promptly report actual and potential accidents and injuries. Employee must understand the PPE and wear it properly.
