$22.00/hr Starting; $23.56/hr After Completion of Level 1 (Around 90 Days)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercise and promote safety
  • Set up dies to prepare for production
  • Obtain production schedule and have dies loaded, ready for production
  • Be available at short notice for unscheduled changes in production
  • Polish dies from previous run
  • Work with die repair personnel to achieve a greater level of knowledge and understanding in the use and function of extrusion dies
  • Understand BSA for related work areas
  • Understand the hazardous chemicals utilized in the department
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum Experience: Ideally 3 months’ experience at UAC
  • Certifications Required: Crane certification; Forklift certification; Lock-out/Tag-out certification; Pallet jack certification (certifications completed during new hire orientation)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively listen and communicate ideas and thoughts to others; able to assimilate ideas originated by others
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; basic understanding of Algebra and Trigonometry
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to carry out and communicate written and/or oral instructions; ability to learn how to operate complex machinery; able to coordinate and accomplish a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Physical Abilities: Regularly required to stand, walk and use hands; must be able to lift 50 pounds at any time during his/her shift; the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
